Born and raised in Hong Kong, Nicolee is now London based. The images and narrative she creates – whether it is through rich colours, textures or nuances, she often borrows from her memories of growing up in Hong Kong, an urban dichotomy.  With the grittiness of its narrow alleyways and hidden corners, a rawness that contrasts with the polished façades of modernity, she finds the paradox, with its “griminess” almost romantically charming, that is reminiscent in her work.

Her films are explorations into notions of culture, identity and experience unique to the underrepresented communities; often fusing movements, electronic sounds and intimate storytelling into one. Stories that bridge the East and West to celebrate cultural differences that connect us.

A rising young and exciting talent, Nicolee’s work is as sensory as it is visual.
